How Proanthocyanidins Help
Proanythocyanidins were discovered in 1947 in France and their health benefits have since been supported by years of clinical research and worldwide use. It has been demonstrated that proanthocyanidins support the body's antioxidant defense system by safeguarding the body against damage caused by free radicals. Antioxidants interact with and stabilize free radicals protecting cells from the damage they cause.
This super-antioxidant proanthocyanidin, is a naturally occurring compound found in concentrated levels in plant barks, stems, leaves and skins. Grape seed extract is particularly high in proanthocyanidins. In fact, the most concentrated source of this bioflavinoid is found in the seeds and skins of white and green grapes. Our PC-95® is pharmaceutical-grade grape seed extract. Proanthocyanidins are thought to be the most potent form of antioxidants available in nature. They have shown to be more effective than vitamin E and vitamin C as an antioxidant.
